About Hammerhead Sleds
Hammerhead Sleds was founded in 2002 with the goal of re-creating the excitement evoked by sledding a century ago, when the Flexible Flyer was first marketed. To attract new sledders and re-connect with old ones, the company took the challenge of bringing an ancient technology up to date using new-age materials, manufacturing techniques, and user experiences. After three prototype versions, multiple patent applications, many test hours, and intense industrial design work, the company unveiled the Hammerhead, the company's flagship sled. At home in both the backyard and the ski slope, the Hammerhead looks and performs nothing like the sleds of the past, with attractive and comfortable ergonomic mesh seating, a lightweight aluminum frame, a responsive control system, and custom carving skis. The company's long-range plan is to bring sledding to the forefront of modern winter sports, with such sponsored activities as team riders and events, slope side venues, and sled races. Hammerhead Sleds is based in Vermont.
